The world has spoken

The United Nations (UN) is an international organization whose stated aims are facilitating cooperation in international law, international security, economic development, social progress, human rights, and achievement of world peace.

On 6 December 2011, to mark International Human Rights Day, United States Secretary of State Hillary Clinton gave a historic speech at the United Nations in Geneva declaring that LGBT rights are human rights and human rights are LGBT rights. On 7 March 2012, at a Human Rights Council meeting on “Violence and Discrimination based on Sexual Orientation or Gender Identity”, U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon delivered a historic speech asking countries around the world to decriminalize same sex relationships and end discrimination of LGBT people.
